About Mountain View Printing

Our Sales Team took us to a record year for print sales in 2024. We’re still growing and we’re looking to invest in a superstar to join the team so we can reach a whole other level. We know we can’t do this without a formidable team.

We already have some of the best professionals in the business working in our prepress and production departments. We’re now looking for you to help us challenge the team and find the new opportunities we know that are out there.

Mountain View Printing has been established in Calgary, Alberta for 40 years. It has been quite a ride. We’ve made it through all the peaks and valleys, and most recently our relentless attitude helped us grow over the two most challenging years for small businesses in Canada.

We have over 600 years of combined print experience in-house and an exceptional 5 star Google rating that you’ll be able to lean on. We continue to expand beyond Calgary, seeking new accounts across Alberta and Western Canada. You’ll be growing and reaching new heights with us, fully supported.

Job Details

Compensation: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Permanent – Full Time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, overtime and/or weekends when required

Summary

  • You have a min. 2 – 3 years experience in print and are willing to learn and expand your experience

Required Qualifications:

  • You must have experience operating the same or similar equipment to be considered for this role.
  • Skill operating digital production equipment
  • Solid understanding of colour theory with an amazing eye for colour
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to spot errors
  • An ability to work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities and projects

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

  • Finishing/bindery experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to set up, operate and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics and capabilities of the equipment – adjustments performed at this level are routine and the need for such adjustments are readily apparent
  • Knowledge of set-ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments to equipment
  • Set up, program and release jobs from print queue
  • Complete all job requirements and production checklists
  • Complete quality control on a job-by-job basis as specified by the Director or Pre-Press Manager to monitor quality of job output for correct colour and image quality
  • Move required materials from inventory to Digital Print Lab and into Machine Bindery when the job is complete
  • Work within company policies and procedures and as directed by the Director or Pre-Press Manager
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • You will be working with and assisting our Shipping/Receiving and Quality Control Lead
  • You are a team player who is self-motivated and energetic, with a strong work ethic
  • You have an ability to work alone and in a team environment, and are flexible with hours if demand requires

Required Qualifications:

  • Computer experience with Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Time management, organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • Capable of maintaining strong internal team and external customer relations
  • Ability to lift 50 lb (23 kg)

Nice-to-have Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of FedEx, Purolator and Loomis software (Domestic and International)
  • Shipping and/or receiving experience
  • Forklift experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in picking orders
  • Organizing customer deliveries
  • Setting up local pick-ups and LTL shipments
  • Assembling, packaging and staging customer orders
  • Ensuring sales orders are shipped accurately and on the date required
  • Maintaining and filing of completed waybills
  • Helping maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and receiving area
  • Physical receiving of vendor orders
  • Verifying, counting and putting stock into inventory
  • Reporting damaged and/or unsafe equipment
  • Assisting in inventory counts as required
  • Adhering to and supporting Mountain View Printing’s safety standards
  • Working in a safe and responsible manner
  • Following all policies and procedures
  • Performing other duties as requested
